The Staff

Pastor Michael Turner

As Founding and Lead Pastor of Turning Point Church, Michael Turner is known for his relevant teaching style, his passion for building strong, God first families and his heart to see the fatherless restored. He has an earnest desire for raising up leaders to fulfill the great commission. He aspires to expand multi-site campuses and plant life-giving churches.

Michael studied at Central Christian Bible College and earned his BA in Biblical Studies. He and his wife Charla have three children and live in McDonough, Georgia where Turning Point Church began in 2003.

Under his leadership, Turning Point has grown from 18 members to over 650 in attendance and currently has plans to start construction in the spring of 2011 on a new campus that will enable Turning Point to reach thousands.

Michael and Charla also founded The Dream Builders Network, which is a mentoring program that helps students discover and pursue the dreams that God has for their lives.

Charla Turner

Charla Turner is the wife of Senior Pastor Michael Turner. In addition to speaking at some of the special weekend services, she also serves in Turning Point's children's ministry. She has a heart to see the next generation love and follow the ultimate hero Jesus Christ.

Charla also hosts Savor, the women's ministry. Savor was born out of her desire to see women be filled with the love of Jesus Christ. Savor also provides an opportunity for women to reach out and share God's love by partenering with the Henry County Pregnancy Resource Center and other local ministries that provide hope to our community.

Charla has a degree in Family and Consumer Science from The University of Georgia and works as a reading specialist at a local school. She enjoys spending time with her husband Michael and their three children, reading, and being outdoors.
